Where, Ever, You, Want and To Be together spell out Take Me Up, the collection Stella designed for the house under his interiors imprint Suonare Stella. Read the names in order and you have the sentence; hung on a wall or laid across a floor, each one stands on its own.
The construction is what separates this collection from the rest of the range: a cut-and-loop pile worked between 12 and 30 millimetres, so the surface shifts from cropped to deep across a single rug and the pattern is carried by height rather than colour alone.
Stella came to design by way of writing — a contributor to Elle, a founder of Lampoon, a bestselling novelist, and winner of the Venice Film Festival's Rising Star prize in 2017 — before building the creative agency behind campaigns for Chanel, Bulgari and Tom Ford.
