Type: H is a hand-knotted silk and wool area rug by Temple Rugs, made to order in Nepal, and part of the Type collection — hand-made rugs drawn from hand-made letters.
The collection reads typography as texture: the gritty degradation of a show poster run through a copy machine, the heavy inked bite of a manual press, each design anchored by a single letter or numeral enlarged to room scale.
Type: H is the most luminous of the group, weighted toward silk so the crossbar and stems shift in tone as light moves across the rug. Colorways are named for the tools of the flyposter: Staple Gun, Glue Stick, Telephone Pole, Black Ink and Copy Machine.
