The Mother is an illuminated pendant by Known Work, made to order in the United States. An embroidered ivory linen shroud hangs from a bronze frame, extending onto the floor so the fixture reads as much as presence as light source. Hand-sewn pearl snap detailing runs the length of the linen. The piece takes the mother as a figure of heirloom and lineage, abstracted into lace and ornate metalwork.
