Plinth III is a hand-knotted wool and silk area rug by Temple Rugs, made to order in Nepal at 10 x 12 — the largest of the four Plinth shapes — with a cashmere upgrade available.
The Plinth collection climbs in measured steps, each riser a small rite, leading up to a plush terrace built to elevate whatever — or whoever — comes to rest on it. Alternating bands of silk and wool gain height across the rug until they reach a densely knotted 12 millimetres of thick Tibetan wool.
At this size the ascent has space to unfold and the upper terrace reads as a genuine platform, which makes it a full living-room rug rather than an accent. Available in six colorways — Alabaster, Hematite, Terracotta, Aquamarine, Serpentine and Basalt. The grid the collection is drawn on makes it unusually open to customization.
