Pietra is a hand-tufted wool and bamboo silk area rug by Giulio Brambilla for Malcusa, made to order in India at 6’7” x 9’10”.
Pietra — stone — is one of seven designs in Mid C, Brambilla's collection for the house. He trained as an architect in Milan and worked as head designer for Italian furniture brands before turning to rugs, and the collection reads that way: mid-century and Art Deco proportion, colour used deliberately rather than decoratively.
New Zealand wool and bamboo silk, hand-tufted in India over six to eight weeks. A hand-knotted version is available on request, as are custom sizes and colorways.
