Passages is a hand-knotted 100% alpaca area rug by Temple Rugs, made to order in India, and a 2024 GRAY Magazine GRAY Award winner.
The rug stretches out in a long form with tabs branching off to the left and right. The pile is alpaca — among the most sumptuous fibers in the world — deep enough at 15mm through the center that it transports you before the shape does.
That shape will energize any room it lands in: the proportions suit a luxe bedroom, an expansive hallway, or a living space willing to take a risk. A rug this long also works where a standard rectangle cannot. Colorways are named for journeys and crossings — Queen Mary, Middle, Transpolar, Northwest, Charon and Purgatory.
