Inner Landscape By Temple

Inner Landscape is a hand-knotted wool and silk area rug by Temple Rugs, made to order in Nepal at a room-filling 10 x 12’6”.

The rug lays a luxe topography across the floor, silk blowing above and over a wool ground to give the design a long sweeping movement. The texture came out of a series of plaster works, and the rough-cut eroding edge of the rug echoes the craggy sides of those sculptures — so the piece reads as a landscape rather than a rectangle.

Colorways move up the Beaufort scale, from still air to weather: Calm, Light Breeze, Strong Breeze, Fresh Gale, Strong Gale and Storm.
