The Nicola Lacquer Desk is a sculptural writing desk by Marbera, designed in Paris and made to order in Italy. A softly curved, bean-shaped top sits on a frame finished in deep, mirror-gloss black lacquer, with each end carried on a pair of rounded columns. A slim drawer slides out from under the top, so the desk holds the essentials without breaking its clean outline.
Three tops give it three characters: all lacquer for a single unbroken form, a figured burl wood top for warmth against the black, or translucent ivory onyx for a lighter, more luminous surface. The rounded silhouette looks finished from every side, so it can float in the middle of a study, office or bedroom as easily as it sits against a wall.
The Nicola is also available as the Nicola Oak Desk, with an onyx top on natural oak, and the Nicola Lacquered Wood and Stone Desk in glossy walnut with a marble or onyx top.
