Nastro is a made-to-order rug by 13.1 Studio for Malcusa, available in custom sizes and colorways.
Nastro means ribbon or band — one of the architectural motifs that gives Novecento its language. The collection is 13.1's reading of twentieth-century Milan, taking balustrades, bands, gables and grillage from the buildings of Lancia, Muzio, Ferrini and Portaluppi and setting them down in wool at floor level.
The studio was founded in 2020 by Federico Sigali and Filippo Fiora, who named it for the birthday they share. Their work runs to the classic and the linear, with proportion reinterpreted rather than reproduced.
