Mush Lamp (Chub) by Jorge Suárez-Kilzi

The Mush Lamp (Chub) is the broadest of Jorge Suárez-Kilzi’s Mush table lamps — a low, rounded fibreglass form that sits close to the surface and spreads a wide, enveloping pool of light. The silhouette takes after a mushroom caught mid-growth, heavy at the cap and quietly grounded.

Each shade is built up by hand from composite fibre and finished with a fine, paper-like grain, giving the surface depth without gloss or ornament. Worked by hand in Spain, every lamp differs slightly in tone and texture from the last.

At just over 20 inches wide, the Chub anchors a console, a low table or a floor beside a sofa — collectible contemporary lighting with a serene, minimalist presence.
