Mush Lamp (Tall) by Jorge Suárez-Kilzi

The Mush Lamp (Tall) is a sculptural fibreglass table lamp by Spanish designer Jorge Suárez-Kilzi, built up by hand in his studio. Its stem-and-cap profile takes after a mushroom caught mid-growth, and the translucent shell glows from within once lit.

Each shade is laid up from composite fibre and finished with a fine, paper-like grain, so the light reads soft and diffused rather than direct. Because every piece is worked by hand in Spain, colour and surface vary slightly from lamp to lamp — no two are identical.

At roughly 22 to 26 inches high, the Tall sits comfortably on a console or side table and works just as well placed directly on the floor — a piece of collectible contemporary lighting with presence but no noise.
