Michel Fabric Pendant is a hand-stitched fabric pendant light by Studio Nicholas Obeid, made to order in New York in your own fabric over a matte glass globe. 14" wide, 17" high, with a custom drop length.
The shade is fabric draped and stitched by hand from a metal frame with waxed linen thread — about ten hours of work per shade, done in New York. Inside sits a matte glass globe, so the light reads as a warm glow coming through cloth rather than a bulb behind a shade. Shown in Zak+Fox Calliope sheer stripe.
Because the shade is COM, this is the pendant in the Michel family that takes on the room it hangs in: a sheer stripe keeps it airy, a heavier weave turns it into a lantern. The frame comes in aged brass, polished brass or mottled nickel, each a hand-applied wax finish that holds its appearance if it is kept dry and cleaned with a soft cloth. Drop length is made to order.
