Kinship II by Lana Launay continues her exploration of material heritage and illumination, expanding upon the narrative introduced by Kinship I. Crafted from stainless steel, antique lace, and stocking layered over an LED-lit aluminum core, the piece captures the delicate tension between strength and vulnerability. Created specifically for Love House’s 2025 exhibition The Family Show, Kinship II reflects the interconnectedness of relationships and the ways in which light, memory, and form can hold one another in balance. Conceived as a companion to Kinship I, the two works are intended to be displayed together, forming a unified and complete expression of the Kinship series.
