A one of a kind cast bronze bowl titled "Marsden" by artist JT Gibson.
Representing an exploration into the physical process of an artistic pursuit, the textured pattern of the bowl is created by casting the bronze in a thin plaster shell, which is destroyed by the molding process. Much like a fingerprint, this process permits no two Marsden bowls to be exactly the same.
JT Gibson studied sculpture at Pratt Institute in the late seventies and learned the craft of fine art metal casting at the Johnson Atelier, a premier bronze art foundry. Thereafter, he founded Gibson Design, specializing in custom bronze metal work and his own furniture designs. His work has been commissioned by Peter Marino Architects, Chanel, Maya Lin and more. In addition, he has maintained his practice as a contemporary artist and sculptor, exhibiting in museums and galleries nationwide.
