Graffito is a hand-knotted 100% wool area rug by Temple Rugs, made to order in Nepal, and a 2025 Interior Design Best of Year Award honoree.
The rug is a dense field of scribbles, marks and irregular boxes, each one seemingly etched or scratched into the wool just below the higher pile. There is no structured pattern and nothing repeats — every detail is its own. The absence of repetition is what gives the design its movement, and yet the whole stays balanced and cohesive.
An optional 4” fringe in the design’s secondary color finishes the rug; Temple recommends it. Colorways are named for places where people have left marks on walls for centuries — Underpass, Aphrodisias, Cueva de las Manos and Ozette Beach — ephemeral inscriptions meant to say, simply, that someone was here.
