Ginger is a hand-tufted viscose and linen area rug by Janice Joostema for Malcusa, made in Europe as a 6’7” square.
Joostema built her following on a tightly held aesthetic — she calls it neutral but warm — and the capsule she designed with Malcusa is the physical version of that: restrained colour, soft geometry, made to sit under a room rather than dominate it.
The square format centres a space instead of directing it, which suits a seating group or a room where nothing is pushed against the walls. Made in Europe rather than India, which brings production down to roughly 30 days — the quickest lead time in the collection.
