Frammenti is a hand-tufted and hooked wool and bamboo silk area rug by Giulio Brambilla for Malcusa, made to order in India at 6’7” x 9’10”.
The name means fragments, and the surface earns it: tufted and hooked passages set against one another so the field reads as texture before it reads as pattern. Frammenti sits in Mid C, the collection Brambilla built for Malcusa after a career that began in architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and continued as head designer for Italian furniture houses.
New Zealand wool gives the ground its weight, bamboo silk its shine. Hand-tufted in India over six to eight weeks, with a hand-knotted version available on request.
