Cube Variations, Part 1 by Studio J McDonald

The Cube Variations Part 1 is an excavation of the classic geometry, an erosion of the logical into a sort of perceptual puzzle. Organic concavities rendered in gypsum cement eat away at the edges and corners of the steel and glass geometry. One way mirror allows us to see within the cube, but not through it. It expands to fill the infinite, a world unto itself. In certain light, it is a side table, and we have only subtle reflections and vague outlines of the interior.
