Crete is a hand-knotted rug by British artist Lucy Naughton for Malcusa, made to order in custom sizes and colorways.
Malcusa went to Naughton because of how she handles material, not only how she handles colour — the house describes wanting to add a physical, textile layer to work that was already about surface. Crete is one of the results: a composition that reads as worn and assembled rather than drawn.
