Cane is a hand-knotted rug by British artist Lucy Naughton for Malcusa, made to order in custom sizes and colorways.
Naughton is a contemporary artist based in Surrey, working in paint, mixed media and collage. Found and collected materials give her a starting point, and worn or damaged surfaces are treated as an asset rather than a flaw — the compositions build intuitively from whatever the material suggests.
Hand-knotted rather than tufted, which suits work this dependent on edge and mark. Custom sizes and colorways on request.
