Boboli is a hand-tufted New Zealand semi-worsted wool area rug by Giulio Brambilla for Malcusa, made to order in India at 6’7” x 9’10”.
Boboli belongs to Maize rather than Mid C — a separate Brambilla collection for the house, worked entirely in semi-worsted wool with no silk in it at all. The yarn is combed before spinning, which is what gives the pile its even, matte surface and its density underfoot.
Brambilla trained as an architect at the Politecnico di Milano and works between vintage warehouses, ateliers and galleries; the collection takes its cues from Neoclassical proportion as readily as from mid-century furniture.
