Blank is a hand-knotted rug by British artist Lucy Naughton for Malcusa, made to order in custom sizes and colorways.
Naughton works out of Surrey in paint, mixed media and collage, and her starting point is usually something found rather than something bought — worn surfaces, damaged edges, materials with a history already in them. Malcusa's collaboration with her came out of exactly that: a minimal but unafraid use of colour, and a way of handling material that translates unusually well into pile.
Blank is the quietest design in the group, which is the point — it is built to sit under a room rather than compete with it. Hand-knotted, in custom sizes and colorways.
