Baratro is a hand-tufted viscose and linen area rug by Sarah Balivo for Malcusa, made to order in India at 6’7” x 9’10”.
Balivo is an Italian architect and set designer. She studied architecture in Aversa, near Naples, then moved to Milan in 2012 and built a career staging rooms for Fendi, Ferragamo and other luxury houses — work that trains you to think about a floor as a surface a camera will read.
Viscose carries the light, linen the texture, hand-tufted in India over six to eight weeks. Custom sizes and colorways on request.
