Sculptural columns of light are realized in a warm satin nickel, designed to exist in a state of anticipatory suspension as the chain-like forms descend from the ceiling and hover low to the floor. Hexagonal slices are offset and overlapped, reflecting light onto their counterparts while obscuring the light source, and connected by open links that create spaciousness through pattern. Maillage illustrates a portion of a larger custom installation and is offered in a variety of finishes and colors, with a full installation viewable at Love House gallery. In French, maillage refers to an arrangement of interconnected elements that form a cohesive structure—an apt reflection of the way these illuminated components connect to create harmony and unity.
