Kinship I by Lana Launay intertwines delicate textile traditions with contemporary light sculpture, exploring the bonds of heritage, memory, and connection. Crafted from stainless steel, antique lace, and stocking layered over an illuminated aluminum core, the piece transforms softness into structure—revealing the beauty found in interdependence. Created specifically for Love House’s 2025 exhibition The Family Show, Kinship I reflects the strength and vulnerability within familial ties, inviting reflection on what we inherit and how we hold one another. Conceived as one half of a pair, it is intended to be displayed alongside Kinship II, together forming a unified and complete narrative.
