Neolithic Thinker is a stool hand-sculpted from red tezontle, a highly oxidised and porous volcanic rock endemic to Mexico. It works equally well as a low side table or a sculptural object in its own right.
Its design draws on different historical references, coming together in a syncretic form that is at once primitive, modern and pre-Hispanic. The deliberately ambiguous shape makes Neolithic Thinker a paradoxical entity that can be mistaken for art or for tool, but stands for both. Stone pattern and tone are unique to each piece.
