Varzesh e bastani’ (ancient sport) or ‘Varzesh e pahlevani’ (sport of heroes) is a heritage sport in Iran that sets to make heroes out of ordinary men. Music and rhythmic movements transform the mundane body building routines into a spiritual practice.
Kabbadeh, a bow shaped iron weight, is one of the tools used in Varzesh e bastani. Centuries ago it prepared the body for a better handling of the bow and arrow.
