Extremely rare example of streamline moderne design, this beautifully restored sideboard is attributed to Donald Deskey.

Donald Deskey (American 1894-1989) was one of America's premier modernist designers, best known for creating the interiors of Radio City Music Hall, as well as packaging for such everyday items as the Crest toothpaste tube. He gravitated toward more private commissions, and did not produce a great deal of commercial furniture designs. Believed to be a custom designed piece by Deskey, a prime example of his Streamline Moderne style.

The sideboard has curved front design, the two winged outer doors swing open to reveal cabinet space with fitted shelves. The sideboard also has four center drawers allowing for maximum storage, with two larger lower drawers and two felt lined upper drawers with removable silverware storage.  Lacquered mahogany inside and out, with two recessed brass collars over ribbed detailing across all four doors.
